Responsibilities

Focused on student outcomes and faculty success, Academic Medical Center Planning is essential to the success of the facilities we are designing for Medical Education, Nursing, Dental, Allied Health, Teaching and Research. We seek like-minded experienced architects to join our team of planners, laboratory designers and technical experts.

Whether your passion for health education spaces is strategic planning, design, or technical detailing you will find a home in the Academic Planning Team. We partner with the country’s most exciting clients in Higher Education, Research and Healthcare to create science and technology spaces that help make a better and healthier world.

Responsible for focusing intellectual capital in a key area and gaining recognition for the firm’s expertise among clients and peers; provide input to project teams in area of expertise.

  • Bring expertise in Academic Medical Center planning for teaching and research facilities to marketing pursuits and project teams;
  • Lead client facing initiatives in the programming and conceptual design phases of projects;
  • Be an active part of design teams in shaping the organization and user experience of projects;.
  • Provide technical leadership in the Schematic, Design Development and Construction Document phases of academic and laboratory projects;
  • Contribute to pre and post occupancy evaluations of projects;
  • Actively seek new knowledge in the design and planning of scientific spaces for teaching and research;
  • Conduct learning sessions for staff to broaden staff knowledge in area of expertise;
  • Speak or participate in professional conferences or other events related to academic and laboratory programming, planning and design;
  • Write articles to be published in professional journals or major trade publications;
  • Active in mentoring and developing the skills of staff in laboratory planning & design;
  • Leverage design talent and other intellectual content to sign-up new work/projects.

Qualifications

  • Professional degree in Architecture;
  • Registered Architect;
  • 7 - 18 years’ experience.
