Responsibilities

  • We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for our Albuquerque, NM office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for HVAC design (airside, hydronic, steam) for a wide variety of multi-disciplinary (A&E) project types, including;
    • Mission Critical
    • Healthcare
    • Utility Plant and campus distribution
    • Commercial
    • Laboratories
  • Project management and client interface;
  • Generate and track project delivery and budgets throughout design schedule;
  • Coordinate with MEP department heads for resource allocation;
  • Perform engineering studies for highly technical clients such as; payback analyses, knowledge of industry trends, and local contractor and maintenance expertise;
  • Technical writing for engineering studies, Basis of Design documents, and narratives for non-technical audience explaining engineering concepts to facilitate decision-making;
  • Overseeing load calculations;
  • Developing system applications;
  • Engineering program coordination;
  • Equipment sizing and calculations;
  • Coordination with all trades, including architectural, structural and civil;
  • Energy modeling;
  • Signing and sealing contract documents;
  • Mentor, coach and train junior staff.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited, four-year university;
  • 10 years of engineering experience in the commercial building design and construction industry;
  • Professional Engineers license in the US;
  • Two years of experience as the primary engineering interface with multiple clients, either as a project manager or as the engineering lead;
  • Technical writing experience and proficiency;
  • Expertise in MS Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Project;
  • Experience with REVIT; 
  • Experience with Trane Trace or IES VE Energy Modeling software;
  • Willingness to travel overnight for projects up to 10% of the time;
  • Strong interpersonal/communication skills needed for client interface.
