The Furniture Planner/Designer will be responsible for activities related to programming, planning, design, and specifications of contract furniture, systems products and other interior furnishings and accessories (FF&A). This person will develop plans to incorporate the client’s space requirements within the established project schedule and budget. He/she will collaborate with a larger team that includes the client representatives, project managers, designers, architects, engineers, general contractors and furniture vendors and dealer for successful project delivery. This person will provide fit and finish selections and recommendations for client’s FF&A that complement other architectural design elements and finishes. The Furniture Planner/Designer will make presentations to clients and will communicate in verbal and written form to all team members throughout the life of a project. This person will be involved in projects within following market sectors: Academic, Government & Civic, Corporate & Commercial, Housing & Hospitality, Science & Technology, Healthcare.
Pre-Design and Programming – Gather client’s needs using consultative skills during interviews, on site visits and meetings with client. Assist the client in understanding the budget and timeframe required. Prepare presentations for client review and approval.
