This Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for HVAC design (airside, hydronic, steam) for a wide variety of multi-disciplinary (A&E) project types in the following market sectors; Mission Critical, Healthcare, Utility Plant and campus distribution, Corporate Commercial, and Laboratories.

• Project Manager responsibilities for engineering-prime projects as well as client interface, generate and track project delivery schedule, and develop and allocate fees for mechanical engineering work;
• Coordinate with MEP department heads for resource allocation;
• Track budgets throughout design;
• Perform engineering studies for highly technical clients whose details include but are not limited to payback analyses, knowledge of industry trends, and local contractor and maintenance expertise;
• Technical writing for engineering studies, Basis of Design documents, and narratives for non-technical audience explaining engineering concepts to facilitate decision-making;
• Oversee load calculations, develop system applications as well as engineering program coordination;
• Coordinate with all trades, including architectural, structural and civil;
• Signing and sealing contract documents;
• Mentoring junior engineers as well as presentating in-house continuing education program.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering from an accredited, four-year university; 10+ years of engineering experience in the commercial building design and construction industry with a current Professional Engineers license in the U.S.;
• 5 years of experience as the primary engineering interface with multiple clients. This could be either as a project manager or as the engineering lead;
• 5 years project management / client interface experience;
• Technical writing experience and proficiency;
• Proficiency in MS Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Project;
• Experience with Revit. Experience is considered at least 25% of work hours spent in production with the software;
• Experience with Trane Trace or IES VE Energy Modeling software;
• Willingness to travel overnight for projects up to 10% of the time.
