Responsibilities

Seeking a creative, self-motivated team player who is detail oriented, possesses strong communication and problem solving skills, and who enjoys working in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. Position requires excellent organizational skills and ability to work under the pressure of multiple deadlines. Ability to plan and prioritize tasks and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and individuals.

  • Design of fire alarm and fire suppression systems
  • Review and development of life safety plans
  • Life safety and building code consulting
  • Collaboration with a variety of engineering and architectural disciplines
  • Interface with local AHJs and building owner insurance representatives
  • Development of site fire protection features and fire department access plans
  • Analysis of smoke movement, means egress, and fire hazards
  • Communication with clients and writing technical reports
  • Attend OAC meetings and document findings

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in construction administration desired
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, construction, or a related field preferred
  • A knowledge multiple building types, construction practices and quality standards
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Familiarity with AIA documents
  • Maintain knowledge of current codes and practices
  • Ability to travel
  • Proficient with Newforma
  • Excellent interpersonal and time management skills
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Collaborative demeanor in solution application
