Responsibilities

 

  • Provide construction administration services such as: review of submittals, response to Requests for Information, and Construction Change Requests initiated by Contractors;
  • Review Cost Estimates and Provide Engineers Opinion of Probable Construction Cost;
  • Establish schedules and provide regular maintenance of design schedules;
  • Coordinate cross-discipline design activities (Surveyor, Geotechnical Engineer, Architect, Landscape Architect, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Site Security, Telecommunications, Branding, Traffic Consultant, Structural, Public involvement);
  • Supervise Site Civil design tasks and perform plan quality reviews.

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering required from an ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering & Technology) accredited college;
  • 10+ years related experience;
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (Civil), with NCEES status to be able to license in other jurisdictions;
  • ACAD Civil 3 D proficiency including plan, grading, profile and sections for roadway and utility alignments (pressure and gravity pipe design, flow lines and hydraulic grade lines);
  • Experience with design and construction of site development infrastructure systems;
  • Experience in site and land development, master planning, transportation alignments, easements, grading, drainage, pavements, water distribution, wastewater, gas.
  • Ability to coordinate electrical and telecom duct systems on Civil Plans and with stakeholders (such as Austin Utility Locating, Coordinating Committee);
  • Strong interpersonal skills, both written and verbal;
  • Ability to work with management to establish, track and achieve goals based on project and departmental priorities;
  • Ability to walk and stand at construction site for extended periods of time (4 hrs.+);
  • Valid driver’s license;
  • Required to meet badging requirements set forth by clients;
  • Some Travel may be required depending upon project;
  • Work from Home available on scheduled basis.
