Page is seeking a qualified Sustainability Specialist to join our Building Science team in our Washington DC office. The position of Sustainability Specialist will provide sustainable consulting services within the firm, primarily for projects seeking certification through LEED, but also serve as a subject matter expert within our Building Science team. Based on your background, you may inform projects expertise in building performance analysis, healthy building concepts, supporting resilience strategies, tracking key metrics, and supporting sustainable education efforts. 


Our Building Sciences practice area works as an integrated bridge between architecture and engineering to create higher performing, healthier, and more resilient buildings. We are a firm wide resource responsible for elevating the discussion of performance and sustainability for all of our projects and measuring results to help quantify how we’re fulfilling our vision of “design that makes lives better.”



We are seeking a sustainability leader who is committed to developing high performing buildings and passionate about sustainable solutions. As a specialist, you will help our teams integrate sustainable strategies, manage 3rd Party certification efforts, and help us work towards our 2030 challenge commitment. As a Building Sciences member, you will serve as a firm wide resource in our integrated team and help establish best practices within our firm for efficiency, health, and resilience.

  • Lead sustainability project management & 3rd party certification efforts on Page projects.
  • Assist designers, clients, engineers and contractors with sustainable design research and implementation.
  • Develop and present sustainability related topics for staff education and grow firm-wide resources.
  • Maintain knowledge of sustainability, wellness, and energy related regulations / certification programs.
  • Goal setting, benchmark and track projects for Page’s 2030 commitment.
  • Prepare materials for sustainable design awards.
  • Serve as an internal and external leader in issues of firm technical capability with respect to sustainable design.
  • Additional responsibilities to be defined with you based on your interests, skills, and expertise within the building sciences team.


The successful candidate will have the ability to evaluate complex projects for compliance with sustainability program goals and performance goals. Additionally qualifications include: 


Required Skills:


  • Experience developing and implementing sustainability concepts and strategies as demonstrated through actual project or program work.
  • Strong knowledge of LEED and other 3rd party systems (Green Globes, WELL, fitwel, Guiding Principles)
  • Agentic approach to improving processes. Entrepreneurial and self-starter with proven experience of how you improve processes and infuse sustainability thinking.
  • Effective project management balancing multiple projects and teams at a time, assigning responsibility, and following through with others.
  • Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong writing skills and education/presentation ability.
  • Proven effectiveness coordinating with contractors, architectural teams, and consultants.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficient in Revit. Familiarity in use of Building Performance Analysis software: Insight, Ladybug, Diva, IES is preferred.
  • Understanding results from building performance software preferred including but not limited to: Daylighting; energy analysis, and Life Cycle Cost Analysis. Experience conducting any of these analysis is a plus.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in architecture, architectural, mechanical or environmental engineering required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • LEED specialty credential required.
