Responsibilities

We are currently seeking Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Washington, DC office. This is a discipline leadership role that actively manage projects, staff and collaborate within Page and with industry peers. Candidates will have current design and project management experience with all three areas of HVAC, plumbing and fire protection (preferred) as they pertain to building systems. The ideal candidate will have the background and skills to support:

 

  • Discipline Leadership and Management
    • Day-to-day management of a team of mechanical and plumbing engineers working concurrently on multiple projects
    • An affinity for mentorship and training
  • Technical excellence in project engineering designing HVAC (airside, hydronic, steam) and plumbing systems for a wide variety of multi-disciplinary (A&E) project types, including but not limited to:
    • Mission Critical
    • Healthcare
    • Utility Plant and campus distribution
    • Corporate Commercial
    • Laboratories
  • Project Management for engineering-prime projects. PM duties include:
    • Client interface
    • Generate and track project delivery schedule
    • Develop and allocate fees for mechanical engineering work
    • Coordinate with MEP department heads for resource allocation
    • Tracking budgets throughout design
  • Perform engineering studies for highly technical clients whose details include but are not limited to payback analyses, knowledge of industry trends, and local contractor and maintenance expertise.
  • Technical writing for engineering studies, Basis of Design documents, and narratives for non-technical audience explaining engineering concepts to facilitate decision-making
  • Overseeing load calculations
  • Developing system applications
  • Engineering program coordination
  • Equipment sizing and calculations
  • Coordination with all trades, including architectural, structural and civil
  • Energy modeling
  • Signing and sealing contract documents
  • Mentorship, both continual as well as presentations for in-house continuing education program

 

Qualifications

  • Ideal candidates will have a minimum of ten years of experience in mechanical system designs for commercial data center and or institutional buildings along with:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university
  • A professional license in Engineering is required
  • Extensive experience in healthcare facility and/or large data center design as well as skills in design management
  • HVAC system design in classified and various research environments
  • Professional knowledge of a broad range of electrical engineering concepts, principles, and practices and familiarity with other engineering disciplines and architecture
  • In depth knowledge of Healthcare mechanical systems design and analysis
  • Thorough knowledge of REVIT MEP, AutoCAD and MS Office is a strong requirement
