Responsibilities

Page is seeking a qualified Sustainability Specialist to join our Building Science team in our Washington DC and Dallas offices. The position of Sustainability Specialist will provide sustainable consulting services within the firm, primarily for projects seeking certification through LEED, but also serve as a subject matter expert within our Building Science team. Based on your background, you may inform projects expertise in building performance analysis, healthy building concepts, supporting resilience strategies, tracking key metrics, and supporting sustainable education efforts.  

Our Building Sciences practice area works as an integrated bridge between architecture and engineering to create higher performing, healthier, and more resilient buildings. We are a firm wide resource responsible for elevating the discussion of performance and sustainability for all of our projects and measuring results to help quantify how we’re fulfilling our vision of “design that makes lives better.”

 

We are seeking a sustainability leader who is committed to developing high performing buildings and passionate about sustainable solutions. As a specialist, you will help our teams integrate sustainable strategies, manage 3rd Party certification efforts, and help us work towards our 2030 challenge commitment. As a Building Sciences member, you will serve as a firm wide resource in our integrated team and help establish best practices within our firm.

  • Lead sustainability project management & 3rd party certification efforts on Page projects.
  • Assist designers, clients, engineers and contractors with sustainable design research and implementation.
  • Develop and present sustainability related topics for staff education and grow firm-wide resources.
  • Maintain knowledge of sustainability, wellness, and energy related regulations / certification programs.
  • Goal setting, benchmark and track projects for Page’s 2030 commitment.
  • Prepare materials for sustainable design awards.
  • Serve as an internal and external leader in issues of firm technical capability with respect to sustainable design.
  • Additional responsibilities to be defined with you based on your interests, skills, and expertise within the building sciences team.

Qualifications

.

  • Experience developing and implementing sustainability concepts and strategies as demonstrated through actual project or program work.
  • Strong knowledge of LEED and other 3rd party systems (Green Globes, WELL, fitwel, Guiding Principles)
  • Effective project management balancing multiple projects and teams at a time.
  • Analytical thinker with strong problem solving skills.
  • Entrepreneurial and self-starter with proven experience of how you improve processes and infuse sustainability thinking.
  • Strong writing skills and education/presentation ability.
  • Proven effectiveness coordinating with contractors, architectural teams, and consultants.
  • Proficient in REVIT. Familiarity in use of Building Performance Analysis software: Insight, Ladybug, Diva, IES is preferred. 
  • Understanding results from buidling performance software preferred including but not limited toL Daylight; energy analysis, and Life Cycle Cost Analysis. Experience conducting any of these analysis is a plus. 

Experience:

  • Bachelor degree in architecture, architectural, mechanical or environmental engineering required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 2-5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • LEED credential required; specialty credential highly desirable.
